WIP Wednesday!
That's right. I'm starting a wip Wednesday. Every Wednesday I'm going to take a photo or two of what I'm currently working on (depending on how many projects there are) and would love to see what you're working on too!
This week I have two projects that I have in progress....
First project I started was this Gingerbread colored Christmas bear. He's going to be going towards the December craft fair here in town. Eventually he will have a green accented twin but for now he's a very lonely half built bear. The goal is to focus on him today and get him finished up. Normally it does not take me this long to finish a project this size but since I've been trying to do two projects at once it has eaten into my time a great deal. I don't think it's worth it. I might have to go back to focusing on individual projects and just knocking them out instead of splitting my focus like this.
This is the head, leg, and almost foot of my son's Christmas present. He loves lions and wanted a blue, purple, and red one with wings. Since I made the dragon for his sister it only seemed right that I make him a lion from the same pattern set. This lion came from the Loni the Lion pattern from Lalylala.com. He should be quite adorable when he's done, though to get the desired winged lion that my son is so desperate for I will have to pull the wing pattern from Dirk the Dragon/Dinosaur and add them to this little guy. Hopefully my son will appreciate the love and time that went into him. Sure he's only turning 8 but still!
That's it from me as far as this week's wip Wednesday goes. What do you have going? I would love to see it! Don't be afraid to show your stuff! Even if you're a beginner and don't think your project is good enough to show... stop it! Anything that comes from the heart and is made by hand is worthy of display. Be proud and show your stuff!

You might be a crochet-aholic if....
YOU MIGHT BE A CROCHET-AHOLIC IF……
- your kids tell you that you don’t need to go to the yarn store because you have your own yarn store in the basement.
- you can’t leave the house without your yarn and hook.
- you have more yarn & hooks than a crochet store.
- when shopping, you head to the yarn department first.
- you have more than one crochet hook in your purse, but you don’t have any working writing tools.
- your first question after being informed by the doctor that you need shoulder surgery is…will I still be able to crochet?
- you would rather buy yarn than a new pair of shoes.
- your Pinterest contains more patterns than you will ever be able to complete in one lifetime!
- you find crochet hooks in the dryer after doing a load of laundry!
- you would rather crochet than be on Facebook.
- your sleep is disturbed by thoughts of new patterns.
- you dont pay your rent cuz you need to add to your stash.
- you have 8 wips and can’t wait to start another one, oh and you know what a wip is!
- everything you see can be made of yarn!
- you can’t find your hook and later discover it tangled in your hair.
- you cry when your physical therapist tells you not to crochet until your shoulder is better.
- you need a separate house just for your yarn.
- you crochet food items instead of going to the grocery store and buy them.
- you jump up from a deep sleep saying, “that is what I am going to make next!”
- your husband tells his friends you have more yarn than Walmart.

What's next on the agenda?! Should I do another amiguruME doll? Another bear? A lion? A moose? Or maybe Christmas stockings! What do you think? Let me hear your thoughts for my next project!

Safety Eyes: the impossible journey!
So, like many I'm sure, I have had a hell of a time finding safety eyes in the size I need for Allison Hoffman's AmiguruME dolls. I haven't been able to find 10mm eyes anywhere! I was lucky and had some 12mm that I had gotten off of Amazon.com but they just weren't right. They were too big and looked funny on the doll's face as you saw in my previous post.
I decided to ask Allison where she got her eyes and while I was waiting I went searching on google once more, like I have so many times already. However, this time I struck gold. I ran across a blog post about safety eyes!
Amigurumi Eyes – Where, What, How To’s / FAQ / Info
Not only was the post extremely informative but CR's Crafts still had the sets of 100 eyes in every size for under 10 bucks! I couldn't believe it! That's 50 amigurumi dolls for 9 dollars round abouts. I just went to the home page and clicked on "Product Index" then clicked on "Animal Eyes". And voila! Every possible option of eyes that I could dream of! I'm a hard core black eye kind of girl, but they have so many options that I might just have to branch out when I run out of my 12mm black eyes for some of my animals that I've been doing (Military Bear).
So excited! Can't wait for them to get here!

New Project: AmiguruME
I don't know about anyone else but I am absolutely in love with Crafty is Cool. Allison Hoffman is a genius when it comes to designing patterns. I have never tried to design a crochet pattern as I do not think I know enough about them in order to do it. So my next project is to try out her new book which I faithfully preordered months in advance and just received the other day. I also purchased AmiguruME for my cousin who wants to get into crochet. Hopefully she'll like it when I give it to her for Christmas. Today I start on the head. I finally have a yarn color that matches my skin tone so Minime isn't going to be ridiculously white in comparison.
She has been abandoned and a new doll is in progress. I will give updates as I go along. Right now it's just the top of the head and I don't think that's much worth posting. xD
